Useful junk

I am not a fan of spam, either online or in meatspace. I regularly mock it. However, there is one form of junk mail that I appreciate: fast food menus. These are really convenient and geographically targeted and relevant to me. How else would I know where delivered to my area, and what they offered?

Are there any other examples of junk mail you find actually useful?

Once I got a cold-call from Southwest airlines to inform me that I could no longer book Southwest flights on any other website besides southwest.com. I appreciated the information!

You could walk around your neighbourhood and collect menus, which is a long-standing tradition when moving into a new area in NYC. I've generally found that the only places that do menu drops over here are (a) brand new or (b) very very very bad, so I don't depend on them. Also, when you already have 15 copies of the Yummy Taco menu, it gets a tad old.

On the other hand, delivery isn't as universal in SF, so I guess the drops are more helpful there.

hungryhouse has made this totally obsolete.

Much better then menu drops as i can see reviews by other customers.
