I've noticed that recently BBC News Online seems to always have the same three types of article as its top three stories: the latest horrific body count from the Israelis versus the Palestinians, whichever happens to have struck most recently, the latest developments in Bush's little war, and an article on how corrupt the UK government is, or failing that, any old government. So it was a welcome surprise today to see an article revealing that Pop Idol winner Will Young says he's gay. I think that's great, because:

1. I told you so, and
2. He's only been a pop star for about two weeks, during which his only other action has been to kill his career before it even gets started.
