Asperger's Syndrome and autism are rising sharply in Silicon Valley because the same genes that make you good at maths and other abstract disciplines such as programming are the same ones that, in greater numbers, give you autism. The description of Asperger's is very interesting; sound like anyone you know? The reason given for the rise is that mildly autistic parents who make superb engineers are meeting, marrying, concentrating the genes and passing them on to their children.
